AB Figures: 15mm Napoleonic French guard cavalry join single-figure codes
Fighting 15s is now able to cast to order all the codes comprising AB’s 15mm French Napoleonic Imperial Guard cavalry, and as a result has added them to the single figure codes in the Fighting 15s shop.
Prices for single figure codes include delivery and VAT, and single figure codes do not increase the weight of orders in the cart when it calculates postage due on an order (single figure codes are zero-weighted for delivery). The cart, however, does apply a minimum delivery charge. Single figure codes are intended to allow customers more flexibility when compiling units.
Our moulds for 15mm AB Figures are made for us by Eureka Miniatures of Australia, the officially licensed manufacturer of 15mm AB Figures. Licensed moulds allow Fighting 15s to cast 15mm AB Figures to order rather than having to wait for deliveries to arrive from Australia.

AB Figures: 15mm French dragoons join single figure codes
Fighting 15s has at last had chance to proof its mould of AB 15mm Napoleonic French dragoons. We are now able to cast to order all the codes comprising AB’s French dragoons figures, and as a result have added them to the single figure codes in the Fighting 15s shop. We still have to proof our mould of AB 15mm Napoleonic French guard cavalry, and these will be the next figures that we add.
Our moulds for 15mm AB Figures are made for us by Eureka Miniatures of Australia, the officially licensed manufacturer of 15mm AB Figures. Licensed moulds allow Fighting 15s to cast 15mm AB Figures to order rather than having to wait for deliveries to arrive from Australia, which means in theory that we can’t run out of French Napoleonic dragoons.
Oozlum Games: Price cut on Martian Empires rules
Martian Empires, Oozlum Games’ set of Victorian SF rules, has dropped in price from GBP15.00 to GBP10.00. Mike and I have been talking about the price of this set of rules for some time, and as we have virtually covered our printing costs, and because Mike has a whole pile of new releases planned or under way for figures for the game, we have decided the price can drop to stimulate further interest – the Yahoo group already has over 400 members, which is quite healthy, but more are welcome.
I am also still working on putting together the print edition of Huzzah!, which will be Oozlum Games’ next release, probably around the time of Salute 2010. But I have a lot to do to get it to the same standard as Martian Empires on presentation, and to combine the current three volumes into one.
Martian Empires is available direct from Black Hat in the UK and Scale Creep in the US. The price in the US has fallen from USD35.00 to just USD20.00. Martian Empires is also listed in the rules section of the Fighting 15s site.
Oddzial Osmy: 1:600 Italians arrive at Fighting 15s
Oddzial Osmy’s progression through the early years of the Second World War in 1:600 scale (3mm) continues with its first releases for the Italians.
The releases are:
WIT-600 L 3/35 tankette
WIT-601 M11/39 medium tank
WIT-602 AB40 armoured car
WIT-603 Bersaglieri infantry, comprising infantry strips, LMG and Brixia light mortar
WIT-604 Dovunque 35 all-terrain truck
WIT-605 Cannone da 47/32 anti-tank gun
WIT-606 SPA CL39 truck
WIT-607 Cannone da 75/27 mod.06 light field gun
WIT-608 SPA TL37 artillery tractor
Packs contain 15 vehicles or models (15 bases or strips of infantry/support weapons) and cost GBP 2.50 inc VAT each (equivalent to about USD 3.50 ex tax). The new releases are available now in the Fighting 15s shop. A reminder that Oddzial Osmy’s figures are cast in a hard aluminium-zinc alloy, and that snips or files should be used when cleaning up – don’t use a blade.
Next month we should have further releases for the 1:600 range, including:
WIT-609 M13/40 tank
WIT-610 AB41 armoured car
WIT-611 Fiat G.50 Freccia monoplane fighter (also used by Finnish air force)
WIT-612 Re.2000 Falco
And for the British:
WBR-631 Bedford QLT truck
WBR-632 Gloster Gladiator biplane fighter, scourge of the Maltese skies
Fighting 15s has also taken delivery of fresh stocks of Oddzial Osmy’s 15mm range of Medievals, replenishing our almost exhausted stocks of Polish, Teutonic Knights and Lithuanians for Tannenberg. We’re not just a one-trick pony.
Eureka Miniatures: Hardlove Light Steam Charger
Eureka’s Hardlove Light Steam Charger (code PAXR42) has been conspicuous by its absence from the Fighting 15s shop – until now, that is. The model, which sits in the Pax Limpopo range of 28mm Victorian SF figures, is produced by Eureka under licence from Ground Zero Games, and there has seemed little point stocking this item and shipping it across the globe when it can be easily obtained far more cheaply and far faster in the UK. GZG, however, cannot currently produce resin vehicles, so we have at last imported some from Eureka.
The Hardlove Steam Charger is now available in the Fighting 15s online shop, priced GBP10.75.

Fighting 15s takes a short break
Ian is taking an impromptu short break and will be back in action on Wednesday. The online shop is open as usual, but there is now a slight backlog on orders.
Strine fever affects Fighting 15s
Fighting 15s is closed for most of this week for the state visit of Mr Australia, Nic Robson of Eureka Miniatures. Not much will happen until Friday.
Price changes for Eureka Miniatures
Fighting 15s has adjusted prices for figures supplied by Eureka Miniatures to account for the worsening of the exchange rate over the past six months.
The exchange rate against the Australian dollar has gone past our safe margins and we are currently getting up to 30 cents less per pound sterling than we used to a year ago, a drop of about 13%. A price rise was inevitable because running costs are increasing, in spite of the economic downturn.
We have always operated with slimmer margins on the prices of Eureka’s 28mm foot figures to keep them affordable, and will largely continue to do so. Because we choose to set slimmer than usual margins, we don’t offer discounts for large orders.
In theory we should now charge GBP1.65 for every 28mm foot figure from Eureka but instead we have decided that prices for figures from Eureka Miniatures’ traditional wargames lines should rise from GBP1.40 to GBP1.50 for 28mm foot figures, and from GBP 3.00 to GBP3.25 for 28mm mounted figures, inclusive of VAT. We regard traditional wargames lines as those where multiples of figures will usually be bought to make up units, in effect our suppressed price reflects a bulk saving.
However, the prices of the more specialised figures ranges rise from GBP1.40 to GBP1.65 for 28mm foot figures, inclusive of VAT. We regard specialised ranges as figures than usually only sell in singles. For comparison, please note that this results in an equivalent price of GBP1.44 ex-tax, which is still less than the current ex-tax price of any 28mm foot figure direct from Eureka (Eureka’s website shows prices exclusive of tax).
The increase should put us on an even footing until the exchange rate alters significantly either way. And yes, that does mean that prices are likely to drop if the exchange rate with the Australian dollar swings back in our favour.
We have also re-priced the 15mm and 18mm lines, with packs of 8 foot or 4 mounted rising from GBP3.20 to GBP3.40 inclusive of VAT. This is a rise of 6.25%. The ex-VAT price works out at GBP0.37 for an 15mm or 18mm foot figure and GBP0.74 for an 18mm mounted figure, as against GBP0.40 and GBP0.79 ex-tax direct from Eureka.
Prices of 15mm Napoleonic and Ancients from AB Figures have also had to rise to GBP3.80 inc VAT for a pack of eight foot figures, and to GBP4.20 for four cavalry. The ex-tax prices for AB Napoleonics and Ancients are still favourable compared with ex-tax prices direct from Eureka (GBP0.41 for foot, GBP0.91 for mounted against Eureka’s GBP0.45 and GBP0.90 respectively).
